"i have noticed a point"

i was wondering if you have ever noticed that men who appear to not have a receding hairline have a point of hair on both sides of the head near the temple.  See the pictures i have included.

i was intrigued to hear that the ear is one of the unique things on us, like finger prints.  While i began my quest to look at and see what our ears appear and their differences, i began to notice the point on men's hair.  Occasionally, you will see a man whose hair does not have that feature and usually there are other signs of a diminishing hairline.   So take a look.....

So do you see the point?  i began to wonder what the ridges in our ears are called.  i wondered what this point in male hair line is called?  While, i cannot name them i know that the ridges and valley in our teeth have names (i asked a dentist friend), so i figure there has to be a name for these unique bodily characteristics. 

So look around and see what you find.  People watching should be a hobby with its' own association.  So watch some people, smile, and watch them smile back, but notice the point on men's hair.
