We all have various generational, "Where were you when......" The first of these was where were you when JFK was shot? MY generations first "Where were you" was the day the shuttle blew up. Then in 2001, 9/11 2001 to be specific made a whole new generation of where you when you first heard about 9/11?
on May 1st 2011, almost ten years later the US military killed the man who was the master planner of the 9/11 attack. Should we be happy we killed someone? What is revenge? What is Justice?
i work overnight and no place to really get great news. However, we did hear about Bin Laden. Upon leaving at 5:30AM greeted by workers coming in asking if we had heard? Yes. i still have not seen the Presidents' press conference, but read about it.
i am conflicted. i make no judgements on the people at Ground Zero celebrating. i am not sure i could join a celebration, but i am not sure i am unhappy about the conclusion either.
To may lives have been lost because of hate. Hate of Americans, hate of how others live their life, hate of a different ethnicity, hate of anothers' religion, hate of anothers' political life, or just plain hate. Will we as human beings on earth ever to learn to love over hate?
Conflicted or happy, Bin Laden is dead. 9/11 will be remembered in September every year.
