God Bless America

i must say i am befuddled by the simplicity and egocentric statements occuring around one politician saying God Bless America.  i want to ask........aren't there two elements to consider when getting the hair on the back of your neck up on this issue?  Yes, i see at least two.

First, i want to use the polite and common response to someone sneezing being told "God Bless You" to illustrate one of my points.  Now i cannot speak for any other person, but i do know with every grain of my DNA that i do not mean this statement to mean God Bless YOU, only you and noone else in the whole world.  i do not even believe i am saying "God Bless You" to only one person sneezing.

Sidebar:  Check this link to learn the considerations, there are at least 4, that are the root of the "God Bless You" tradition. "God Bless You"

The first point:  Maybe, just maybe, saying  "God Bless America" does not mean just the 50 USA/America or the exclusion of any other country.  This comment leads right into my second point.

It is so USA/AMERICAN to think no other country exists in the Americas'.  We need to remember that there is North America and South America and multiple countries within those contentinal boundaries.  This point leads to the sidebar below.

Sidebar:  As American's we think we are the only country in the world.  We barely, if at all, know the States of our Country, their capitals, and a dozen facts about our own State let alone all fifty states.  We, USA citizens, really have poor geography IQ's because we have poor geography education.  Now, yes there are exceptions, but few and far between.  We really need in this generation more than any other need to teach and learn more about our 50 States and the countries of the world.

i guess the bumper sticker i saw which stated God Blesses All Countries might have a human in the area of the exception.

May God Bless You.

May God Bless America.

May America Bless God or the bumper sticker post 911 Bless God, America.

May God Bless Everyone.

May, We,  Humans Leave the Judging to God.
